Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized rehabilitation nursing care to patients with cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injuries, neurological diseases, and deconditioning. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring optimal patient recovery and functional outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and coordinate comprehensive nursing care for patients within the rehabilitation unit.
• Collaborate with the care team, including physiatrists, NPs, therapists, and social workers, to create and update patient treatment plans.
• Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting interventions based on clinical changes and goals.
• Educate patients and families regarding their conditions, therapies, and discharge planning.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, safety protocols, and documentation standards using Cerner charting.
• Maintain current licensure, certifications, and compliance with facility policies, including flu shot requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid WV or Compact RN license; pending license accepted for submission.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in specialty rehabilitation or related fields.
• Proven ability to work in a high-acuity, short-term acute care setting with complex neurological and musculoskeletal cases.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association; ACLS/PALS preferred depending on unit needs.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills essential for interdisciplinary collaboration.
