To thrive as a Full-Time Animal Control Officer with the City of O'Fallon, you will need a diverse set of skills and competencies. Proficiency in apprehending, controlling, and confining animals is essential, as is the ability to handle situations involving unlicensed, injured, or dangerous animals. Excellent communication skills are critical for responding to citizen calls and educating the public about animal control laws, policies, and procedures.

Additionally, you will need to maintain case files and reports, along with performing tasks such as patrolling city parks, enforcing ordinances, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. Your commitment to animal welfare and community education will be key to your success in this role.
