OB Hospitalist Locums - Santa Maria, CA Assignment Overview

Location: Santa Maria, California
Start Date: ASAP
Practice Setting: Hospital-Based OB Hospitalist
Credentialing: Required with both the hospital and affiliated community health center

Availability

Start: ASAP
Ongoing locum coverage needed

Clinical Details

OB Hospitalist coverage
GYN coverage required
- Approximately 1-2 GYN surgeries per month
First assist available from the hospitalist team
Backup support provided by Community Health Center clinic providers
Coverage includes backup for Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) and Family Practice providers affiliated with the FQHC

Hospital Information

NICU: Level II
Average Hospital Deliveries: Approximately 45 per month
Hospitalist Deliveries: No unassigned deliveries; all deliveries originate from clinic patients
Average Patient Encounters: Approximately 10 OB triage patients per day
Maternal-Fetal Medicine: On-call
In-House Anesthesia: Yes
EMR: Epic

Licenses & CertificationsRequired

California Medical License
Epic EMR experience preferred for efficient onboarding

Experience

Experience providing OB Hospitalist coverage
Comfortable managing obstetrical emergencies, OB triage, and routine gynecologic care
Experience with GYN surgical cases preferred (approximately 1-2 cases per month)
