Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship trained, board certified or board eligible Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist to join our Advanced Heart Failure Transplant team for the Temple Region. Our heart failure services, including heart transplant, ventricular assist devices, ECMO, and an interdisciplinary shock team, are growing. You will join a team of eight advanced heart failure specialists that supports approximately 50 heart replacements annually. Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation services. Teach Cardiology Fellows and Internal Medicine Residents as part of ACGME education and rotate on the inpatient cardiac transplant service at BSWH Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. Hold a faculty appointment through Baylor College of Medicine at a rank commensurate with academic experience; involvement with medical student education is variable and dependent on interest. Qualifications Must be UNOS qualified for the care of patients with cardiac transplants. Must be fellowship trained and board certified or board eligible in Advanced Heart Failure Transplant cardiology. Interest in education and research is encouraged, but not essential. Provide coverage for transplant inpatient and outpatient services. Expected call obligation: 6–8 weeks a year at the Temple location. Work with dedicated HF nurses and APP once a week, with plans for expansion. Opportunity to perform cath‑lab procedures (e.g., right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitors) and interpret echo for VAD and heart transplant patients. Doctorate Degree in Medicine. Licensed to practice medicine in Texas by the Texas Medical Board by the start date. Where applicable, the employee must be currently board certified in his or her specialty or actively pursuing board certification as defined by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists. #J-18808-Ljbffr
