Nurse Practitioner - Bariatric Program

Overview Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP) Department/Unit: Surgery Bariatrics Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: [Not specified] Responsibilities Apply advanced knowledge in anatomy, neurology, microbiology, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, gerontology, human growth and development, human developmental disease, and medical terminology to manage patient care. Conduct thorough patient assessments, complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, take vital signs, collect specimens, and prepare patients for tests, therapy, or treatments. Order and interpret medical laboratory test results, diagnose medical conditions, and administer medications or treatments. Perform minor surgery and provide therapeutic interventions. Develop and apply specialty practice standards and conduct research to enhance quality of care. Collaborate with attending physicians, primary nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver family‑centered care. Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring smooth patient flow, treatment, and discharge including triage. Act as a mentor to new staff and physician‑assistant students. Document accurate patient coding for effective billing and maintain detailed patient medical reports. Maintain inventory of medical supplies and instruments. Project a professional image and earn the confidence of others. Qualifications Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program – required. Successful completion and maintenance of ACLS and BLS certifications upon hire. Proficiency in a computerized medical record‑keeping and billing system. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. HIPAA compliance at all times. Maintain a professional image and earn the confidence of others.
