Senior Accountant Professional Tuscaloosa, AL, US 7 days ago Requisition ID: 1099 Summary In this role, you'll be a key contributor to the accounting team, partnering with Project Managers and leadership to ensure financial integrity across the organization. You'll play an important role in month-end close, financial reporting, revenue recognition, payroll, reconciliations, compliance, and process improvements. Job Duties & Responsibilities Prepare monthly billings to customers in collaboration with Project Managers utilizing GAAP revenue recognition guidelines. Reconcile revenue between the financial system and the production ERP system. Upload, review, and reconcile weekly payroll files for processing, including 401K and FSA. Identify and resolve potential issues before processing. Reconcile Bank Accounts on a monthly basis. Reconcile assigned GL accounts on monthly, quarterly, semiannually, or annually as required. Perform adjusting journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing process. Calculate and submit applications for business licenses and construction fee returns. Prepare and submit city occupational tax returns as required. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles in area of responsibility. Perform backup function for other accounting positions as assigned. Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. Three or more years of accounting experience is required. Experience in construction or related industry preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Proficient computer skills. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required, especially Excel. NetSuite experience is a plus.
