GROCERY/RECEIVING CLERK

Job Title

Responsibilities

1. Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud
2. Notify management of customer or employee accidents
3. Develop and train DSD Receiver back up
4. Ensure maximum security of receiving area
5. Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair
6. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
7. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
8. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
9. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
10. Ensure inventory management for all delivered product
11. Process damaged/returned goods and complete/process paperwork
12. Check condition, accuracy of quantity, pricing, and temperature of product received
13. Ensure shipping and receiving tools are working properly to provide a smooth transition of the products/merchandise into the store and inventory logs
14. Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity, including Computer Assisted Ordering
15. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
16. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
17. Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude
18. Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
19. Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
20. Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
21. Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
22. Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
23. Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively in a team-based environment
• Strong attention to detail

Desired:

• Any receiving experience
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
• Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
• Excellent oral/written communication skills
