Chief Building Official

The City of Bluffdale is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Chief Building Official. This position must perform a variety of administrative and technical duties as needed to plan organize direct and coordinate construction review and inspection and the daily operation of the building department. Provides leadership direction management supervision and coordination of building division activities. Performs plan reviews and inspections on residential commercial and industrial buildings.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school plus two (2) years of specialized training in building methods and practices related to commercial industrial and residential structures provided through technical college professional workshops or university studies. Bachelors degree in engineering construction management public administration or related field a plus; Six (6) years of responsible experience performing above or related duties; three (3) years of which must have been in a lead or supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements
Must possess a valid Utah Drivers to be an International Code Council (ICC) certified plans examiner and a State of Utah Licensed combination commercial and residential be a qualified building official as defined by Utah State Code 15A-1-202(16)(c).
