Sheet Metal Technician - Various Shifts (Sacramento, CA)Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment for general aviation aircraft. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces.Job responsibilities include determining project requirements, setting up for and installing solid rivets with a rivet gun, laying out of sheet metal parts using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions, altering existing parts using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions, riveting and sheet metal component removal, bending and forming a radius on fabricated sheet metal parts, drilling various metals, deburring holes and cut lines, setting up for and countersinking of holes, setting up for and dimpling of holes, installing blind rivets and fasteners.Qualifications include a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate, a minimum of 2 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience, aircraft structure repair manuals, FAA AC 43.13-1B, skilled in identifying types of corrosions, skilled in corrosion removal procedures, skilled in the application and removal of wash etch and alodine material, skilled in the application of primer, identify rivets, bolts, screws, and nuts and washers, must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.Textron's compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs.
