Title: Commodities Application Support Specialist Requisition ID: 238659 Salary range is a guideline only; actual offer may vary. Purpose The GBME–Commodities, FX Options & Derivatives Technology team supports the Global Banking and Markets Commodities business. The Application Support Specialist will provide responsive application level and back‑end support for critical trading applications used by the Commodities Sales and Trading business, with emphasis on the Metals business. Responsibilities include support for production and non‑production deployments, application support, end‑of‑day batches, and resolution of same‑day critical incidents in collaboration with other teams. Technical assistance will be provided to front, middle and back‑office users, and automated procedures will be implemented to solve complex problems. What You’ll Do Work closely with Sales, Traders, and cross‑functional teams (engineering, business lines, product teams) to build high‑quality products on time and within budget. Perform analysis of business issues, define solutions that simplify and improve outcomes, and collaborate with users to review and test new products for trading. Communicate and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to drive departmental strategy. What You’ll Bring 10+ years of product and technology experience (preferably support), with strong business analysis and technical architecture background. 5+ years experience in commodity derivatives, preferably metals. Strong knowledge of capital markets trading and commodities products with a focus on metals. Experience with market risk related to derivatives products, including higher‑order greeks for risk and pricing. Good understanding of the end‑to‑end trade life cycle. Experience translating business objectives into technical requirements and collaborating with various teams and vendors. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to influence a cross‑functional team. Curious mindset and desire to own tasks and develop novel solutions. Background in supporting trading floors and systems using current technologies. Experience with Unix, shell scripting, Oracle and other tools (5+ years). Experience managing databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL. Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis. Experience as a support analyst or DevOps engineer in a 24x7 uptime environment, with automation experience. Proficiency with source‑code versioning tools (Git, Bitbucket) and build tools (Jenkins).
