Registered Nurse - OB/GYN

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in OB/GYN provides comprehensive nursing care to obstetrics and gynecology patients during their shifts. The role involves assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans based on age-specific criteria.
• Implement nursing interventions, administer medications, and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to coordinate care and support procedures such as 1st assist and scrub OB.
• Educate non-RN staff, including LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries, on patient care protocols.
• Demonstrate flexibility with shift changes, including days and nights, to meet department needs.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and certification requirements for OB/GYN nursing.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with active Ohio/OH or Compact license documented in Nursys.
• Minimum of 2 years OB experience, with at least one completed travel assignment.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications.
• Ability to function as a 1st assist and Scrub OB (highly preferred).
• Strong clinical skills in obstetrics and gynecology, with pertinent experience within the past year.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including days and nights, as required.
