Local Contract Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $54-57 per hour

American Medical Staffing is seeking a local contract nurse RN ICU – Intensive Care Unit for a local contract nursing job in Chesapeake, Virginia. Job Details Specialty: ICU – Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/20/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours per week: 36 hours Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Local Contract Responsibilities Deliver ICU care using EPIC documentation while managing vents, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia/emergency management. Monitor for and respond to respiratory failure, sepsis/MODS, renal failure, heart failure/post-cardiac cath complications, and post-surgical trauma needs while maintaining safe acuity ratios of 1:2-3. Support coordinated patient care by floating as assigned to Stepdown and/or ED/MedSurg when ICU patients are being held. Qualifications 3 years of experience as an RN. At least 3 years of ICU experience. EPIC proficiency, BLS and ACLS (via American Heart Association), and NIHSS; strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke) and experience with vents, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia and emergency management. Travel experience preferred. Valid RN license. Willingness to obtain State licensure. VA or Compact license in hand at the time of submittal (no exceptions).
