WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Budget Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience with planning and directing the budget management for funds appropriation to optimize business results and customer experience by: Develop forecasts and issues instructions for preparing budget estimates taking into account legislative requirements and program goals and objectives.Prepares allowances for both program and salary and expense funds to central office and regional offices which reflect allocations and changes in obligation.Works closely with senior staff to develop obligation plans which reflect the even flow of obligations over a fiscal year.Maintains close relationships with the program units in developing information to meet Congressional requests.Negotiates with operating officials to secure agreement on funds increase or decrease.Help Help Conditions of EmploymentU.S. Citizenship requiredMales born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service - for federal employmentMeet time in grade restrictions by the closing date of the announcementAppointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis: Monitoring contract performance including burn rates, monthly expenditures, and funding projects;Tracking, analyzing, and summarizing congressional spending and appropriations proposed and final bills;Communicating with data and developing data dashboards with various software tools; and,Project development and management within teams or with clients with diverse skillsets.Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC.
