Unit Manager (Registered Nurse)

Location: Ellicott City Healthcare Center, Ellicott City, MD
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday with rotating on-call responsibilities

Ellicott City Healthcare Center is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager to lead and support our nursing team while ensuring exceptional care for our residents. The Unit Manager plays a critical role in overseeing daily clinical operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive environment for residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of an assigned nursing unit.

• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.

• Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centered care.

• Coordinate and oversee resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.

• Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.

• Conduct rounds and address resident, family, and staff concerns promptly.

• Participate in admissions, discharges, and care conferences.

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members.

• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and performance management.

• Promote infection prevention and quality improvement initiatives.

QualificationsRequired:

• Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting.

• Strong clinical assessment and leadership skills.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Preferred:

• Previous Unit Manager, Charge Nurse, or Supervisory experience.

• Experience working in a skilled nursing or post-acute care environment.

• Knowledge of CMS regulations and long-term care survey processes.
