Active team participant in mentoring and educating other team members. Inpatient consultation and admission at the direction of the collaborating physician. Documentation of all patient encounters by computerized progress notes, brief operative notes, procedural notes, or admission/consultation/discharge summary dictation. Pre‑operative patient evaluation and medical optimization. Evaluation and treatment of patients with acute, chronic, and surgical concerns, including admission/consultation, medical history, physical examination, diagnostic laboratory data, ordering and interpreting lab and radiology, cardiac diagnostic testing, diagnosis across organ systems, development of treatment plans, ordering medications, medication reconciliation, therapeutic interventions, age‑specific care planning, activity and diet level designation, restraint ordering/renewal, rounds and documentation, post‑operative ICU and floor management, coordination of information flow, BLS/ACLS facilitation, multidisciplinary rounds, patient education, psychosocial assessment, coordination of donor/recipient care, communication with referring physicians, performing any clinical responsibility within PA’s scope, assisting the collaborating physician in interventions, functioning in outpatient and inpatient settings, on‑call coverage for medical triage, surgical assist duties including first and second operative assistance, heart and lung transplantation procedures, cardiothoracic surgeries, conduit harvest, ECMO initiation, informed consent, insertion of lines and tubes, coding and reimbursement documentation, and other duties as assigned. Perform First/Second Surgical Assist duties within the OR or bedside as directed. Roles in transplant team meetings, patient review, interdisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, QAPI, data collection, regulatory reporting, preparation for regulatory surveys, expert resource, action plan development, mock surveys, continuing education, and miscellaneous duties. Qualifications Education and Experience Required: 2+ years experience Graduate of a Physician Assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC‑PA) 2+ years post‑graduation clinical experience or one‑year post‑graduate surgical residency training experience 1+ cardiothoracic specialty‑specific experience Pre‑operative, Intra‑operative, Post‑operative surgical patient care experience Critical care experience License, Certification or Registration Required: National Commission of Certification of PAs Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Physician Assistant (PA) Pay Range: $91,313.86 - $169,845.73 This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti‑discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances. #J-18808-Ljbffr AdventHealth
