Lead Medical Assistant Trainer

Job Details Job Location: Columbus, OH 43224 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly Reports To: Assistant Site Manager Supervises: N/A Dress Requirement: Scrubs in accordance with Heart of Ohio Family Health’s dress code policy Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (times subject to change based on staffing needs) Float Between Centers: Expectation to float between all Heart of Ohio Family Health locations based on organizational need Essential Responsibilities Onboard and train new Medical Assistant hires to the standards, expectations and protocols set in HOFH’s Standard Operating Procedures Conduct skills assessment and sign off on competency for all required tasks Serve as a role model of accountability to peers on clinical competency, patient‑centric care, and HOFH’s Mission, Vision and Values Promote a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures, and plans that prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcomes to associates and patients Manage paperwork coming into the clinic, including FMLA, prescription requests, and others Route basket messages to the correct recipients in a timely manner Ensure basket messages are reviewed and handled appropriately Assist with patient inquiries/concerns regarding medical care, medication instructions and prescription call‑ins promptly and courteously under the direction of the clinical provider Perform other administrative duties as required Assist in rooming patients and performing all other Medical Assistant duties when necessary, including at any of HOFH’s locations Help maintain a clean and professional environment prepared to see patients This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. Facility Environment Heart of Ohio Family Health operates in multiple locations. All facilities have a medical office environment with front‑desk reception area, separate patient examination rooms, nursing stations, pharmacy stock room, business offices, hallways and private toilet facilities. All facilities are ADA compliant. This position’s primary work area is patient examination rooms and nursing stations, which are kept at normal working temperatures, sanitized daily, maintained with standard office furniture and equipment at a normal height. Physical Demands and Requirements Mobility: ability to easily move without assistance Bending: occasional bending from the waist and knees Reaching: occasional reaching no higher than normal arm stretches Lifting/Carry: ability to lift and carry a normal stack of documents and/or files Pushing/Pulling: ability to push or pull a normal office environment Dexterity: ability to handle and/or grasp, use a keyboard, calculator, and other office equipment accurately and quickly Hearing: ability to accurately hear and react to the normal tone of a person’s voice Visual: ability to safely and accurately see and react to factors and objects in a normal setting Speaking: ability to pronounce words clearly to be understood by another individual Frequency of tasks varies from occasional to normal, often, with potential for fast, chaotic, high‑stress periods Exposure: trauma, grief, death, disease or bacteria, closed containers or vials of patients’ bodily fluids or tissues, handling money or financial accounts, interacting with public and business associates Required to wear safety clothing or equipment Qualifications Education and Experience: Some education in the medical field and/or significant experience in the medical field. Students in health sciences, nursing, etc. are encouraged to apply. Certification: CMA, LPN, STNA, CHW, and EMT certifications are encouraged but not required. Must complete competency training; may have more limited expected activities based on certification. Communication Skills: Current BLS/CPR preferred but not required. Exceptional customer service skills. Must be able to work as a team member. Clinical and Administrative Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in office lab testing, patient care, and vitals. Decision Making: Ability to work with limited supervision and to make decisions based on established policies and procedures. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required; previous experience with EMR preferred. Travel: Ability to travel to additional HOFH sites. #J-18808-Ljbffr Heart of Ohio Family Health
