Senior React Developer

Your first assignment

Your first assignment is to lead the rebuild of a federal agency's internal web application, replacing an aging content-management front end with a modern React application and the services behind it. You own the architecture, from the components users touch to the interface tier that feeds them. The work is real, hard, and it matters. It is also where you start, not the shape of your career here: we hire people, not seats, and we move our best to where the hardest problems are.

What you'll build

• A modern front end in React and TypeScript that replaces a legacy content-management system, migrating its content and the data flows that feed it.
• The tier behind it: a Node.js middleware and application programming interface (API) layer (Express, REST or GraphQL) and the data-transfer APIs that move information in and out.
• In time, the firm itself: new capabilities, tools, and lines of business you help spin up.

Who you are

You are a full-stack lead who builds and sets the bar for how others build. You have carried a real front-end rebuild to production, and you sweat both the architecture and the accessibility. You experiment, fail, learn, and repeat quickly. You would rather own an outcome than be handed a task.

What you bring

• Deep React and TypeScript, plus the Node.js and API experience to own the full stack from component to service.
• The architecture judgment to replace a legacy content-management front end cleanly, migrating content and designing the data-transfer APIs.
• The judgment to build in a regulated federal environment where accessibility (Section 508) and security are not optional.

What you'll need

U.S. citizenship (this initial engagement may be staffed by U.S. citizens only) and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination. This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and it requires commuting into DC regularly. Everything else, the years, the certifications, the specific tools, we ask in the application and get into during the interview.
