To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the creation of CAD models and design documentation for a variety of avionics equipment for Lunar missions. As a member of the highly collaborative and fast-paced Lunar Permanence organization, you will engage with personnel from other teams including Electrical, Systems, Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Quality.Our work scope is broad and deep, building the path toward our vision of millions of people living and working in space. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Effectively design, develop, and test robust electronics enclosures and mechanical assembliesCreate 3D CAD models and part, assembly, and installation drawingsCreate specifications and work process instructionsLead or participate in engineering design reviewsCoordinate procurement of parts and assembliesDesign test fixtures and fabrication toolingParticipate in or provide technical guidance for hardware installationsReport regularly on status of schedules and technical progressMinimum QualificationsMinimum of an A.S. degree in drafting and design or equivalent designer experience6+ years of experience designing/drafting mechanical parts, assemblies, enclosures, brackets, test and assembly fixturesStrong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD softwareExperienced with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Familiar with existing applicable drafting standards including ASME Y14.5Strong written and oral communication skillsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationshipsMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred QualificationsB.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering fieldExperienced with PTC Creo 8.0 or equivalent, PTC Windchill PLM10+ years of experienceKnowledge of aerospace materials, standards, and design best practicesExperience with aerospace, launch vehicle, or spacecraft mechanical and/or avionics systemsAptitude and practical skills applied to mechanical assemblies, tools, and shop practicesExperience with 3D printed part fabricationFlexible and open to tackling varied assignments and/or learning new skillsCompensation Range for:CO applicants is $114,455.00 - $160,236.30WA applicants is $124,476.00 - $174,265.35Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
