About the Role The Project Manager reports to the Operations Manager and plays a key role in directing personnel, staffing, training, planning, and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of the company. The position maintains excellent customer service while managing a field service operation for a group of employees, plans and maintains work systems, procedures, and policies, and encourages optimal performance. What You'll Do Manage and Maintain Workforce: Ensure the health and safety of the workforce. Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and supplies. Maintain all vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and proper working condition. Ensure productivity levels through effective monitoring of staffing levels and financial requirements. Develop an Employee‑Oriented Company Culture: Emphasize quality, continuous improvement, employee retention and development, and high performance. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding. Guide personnel to achieve optimum performance levels. Follow fleet standards and vehicle operating policies. Control maintenance and repair of vehicles. Train Personnel on Safety and Accident Prevention: Train personnel on safety and accident prevention program. Understand and adhere to all company safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions. Collaborate with Management Personnel: Formulate departmental goals, strategies, and operating policies and procedures, and direct implementation of approved changes. Prepare the department forecast and monitor expenses with that forecast. Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to meter reading. Complete quality control audits on field personnel monthly. Make recommendations for employees regarding employment, performance appraisal, salary changes, promotions, transfers and terminations. Provide written communication on aspects such as economy/efficiency of operations, quality control performance, production/personnel scheduling, and client relationships. Work with the Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees. Customer Communication: Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities. Ensure all complaints are resolved in a timely manner and are acceptable to our clients. Train employees on conflict resolution strategies. Other duties as assigned. About You Must Haves Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: 1+ year of leadership experience in electric, water, and/or gas meter installation management. Upon hire, the candidate must complete and pass all Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training. Nice to Have Education: Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management or Business Administration. Experience: 2 or more years of experience in electric, water, and/or gas meter installation management or a similar supervisory role; 1 year of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 6+ months working outdoors. Drug/alcohol testing required per Federal DOT regulations for employees working with gas meters.
