ISP/OSP FIBER TECHNICIAN

Cannon Companies is looking to add new team members to our ISP/OSP Communications Division. We are looking for qualified applicants with a telecommunications cabling background. The position will be located in Milton, WA, USA.

Fiber Splicer Technician Requirements:

1. Have a minimum of 2 years' direct experience in the Telecom field.
2. Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Criminal Background Check
3. Have a clean driving record and valid Driver's License
4. Be willing to work flexible hours (days/nights)
5. Have a positive attitude and be highly motivated
6. Possess excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve
7. Ability to distinguish varying fiber colors.
8. Copper slicing experience a bonus
9. This position is a Safety Sensitive Role

Essential Functions:

1. General knowledge of cable installation practices
2. Proficient in fiber terminating, splicing, and testing both inside and outside plant
3. Responsible for the installation, termination, splicing, testing, certification and documentation of fiber optic cabling as well as related fiber optic maintenance activities
4. Telecom certifications are a HUGE plus
5. Ability to read and understand complex prints for fiber slicing and equipment installations
6. Have a desire and ability to support customer needs with strong attention to detail
7. Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment
