Field Service Engineer - Maritime Cranes Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul port equipment such as harbor mobile cranes, reach stackers, ship cranes, and related components. Apply electrical, mechanical, and software knowledge to test and modify operating machinery, ensuring safety and compliance with manufacturer specifications. Responsibilities Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts. Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools. Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles. Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges. Read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Overhaul and test machines to confirm operating efficiency. Use test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges to diagnose malfunctions. Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications. Complete assigned paperwork as instructed. Maintain quality standards through visual and mechanical inspection methods. Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety procedures. Handle and dispose of hazardous wastes (e.g., toner, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid). Successfully complete factory‑authorized training. Demonstrate working knowledge of Sculi and Crane Management software. Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness. Complete jobs independently with minimal assistance. Fill out working reports, hour’s reports, timesheets, and expense reports accurately. Assist customers with troubleshooting and part‑related questions when needed. Attend training sessions as required. Maintain a minimum set of tools required for job performance. Care for company tools, machines, and equipment. Maintain a positive attitude and serve as a role model for other employees. Keep company service literature current and stay aware of technical changes. Serve as the lead person temporarily, as necessary. Train and/or mentor others in the department. Education and Experience High school graduate or GED. At least 5+ years of direct experience with Liebherr Port Equipment as a technician. Additional Requirements Travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver licence and passport.
