The Older Adults Community Mental Health Team in West Dunbartonshire (Cairnmhor Resource Centre, Dumbarton Joint Hospital and Goldenhill Resource Centre, Clydebank) is looking to recruit a Team Leader. A live NMC UK pin is required. Location & Working Pattern Location: West Dunbartonshire (Cairnmhor Resource Centre, Dumbarton Joint Hospital and Goldenhill Resource Centre, Clydebank). Contract: Permanent. Hours: Full‑time, Monday to Thursday 09:00–16:45. Key Responsibilities Function as the Named Practitioner within a multi‑disciplinary team for a complex patient caseload requiring specialist mental health care, undertaking care coordination where required. Conduct holistic assessment of complex care needs, including risk assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating specialist programmes of care for individual caseload and monitoring the clinical staff’s caseload. Review and monitor all relevant forms of care in the least restrictive manner; improve mental and physical well‑being of patients; support staff in addressing issues related to vulnerability, gender, health, domestic abuse, adult/child protection and self‑harm. Ensure therapeutic staff/patient relationships for complex/unsteady care needs within a participative framework, respecting equality, dignity and respect across spiritual and cultural diversity. Work proactively with other agencies (e.g., interpreter services) to aid communication. Ensure clinical staff work within agreed competency‑based parameters and undertake evidence‑based psychological therapies/approaches in individual or group settings. Partner with patients and carers using values‑based practice to deliver person‑centred care, promoting mental wellbeing and relapse prevention. Maintain professional practice in line with regulatory bodies, legislation and relevant Acts (e.g., Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003; Adults with Incapacity 2000; Adult Support and Protection 2007; Children & Young Peoples 2014). Participate in multi‑disciplinary decision‑making for referral screening, patient allocation, reviews; monitor workforce issues; ensure resource efficiency. Support the Integrated Operations Manager; contribute to health and social care agenda; lead professional, practice and service improvements to ensure safe, effective, person‑centred care delivery. Qualifications & Experience Required Relevant professional qualification. Honours degree level education or equivalent experience. Specialist knowledge of mental health care, including risk assessment, rights, values‑based practice. Formal study/qualification demonstrating evidence‑based psychological therapy skills. Formal study/qualification demonstrating frontline management and leadership expertise. Evidence in post‑registration study or professional development relevant to specialist community mental health. Line management and clinical supervision of senior staff. Coordination of care for patients with complex unstable mental health needs. Applied management and leadership skills. Enhanced written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Service improvement and/or practice development at local or service level. Ability to manage competing priorities. Duties in a home/near‑home environment, including car driving where required. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements.
