Beauty Advisor (Licensed Esthetician)

Mad Hippie's first-ever flagship store is here in Austin, and we're hiring a part-time Beauty Advisor, a licensed esthetician, to join the team behind it. This is your chance to bring your expertise to the retail floor of a nationally recognized, radically clean skincare brand and help guests fall in love with skin care that actually works. This is not a typical retail job. You won't be standing behind a register waiting for someone to check out. You'll be on the floor, talking to people about skin care, teaching them about ingredients, helping them build routines that actually work, and representing a brand that has built a national following by doing things the right way. What You'll Do Welcome every guest with genuine warmth and create an experience that feels personal, knowledgeable, and pressure-free. Deliver education-driven customer experiences and maintain expert product and ingredient knowledge across all categories. Conduct skincare consultations using our GLOW framework. Help guests build routines, understand ingredients, and feel confident in their choices. Maintain the sales floor: keep products stocked, faced, and beautifully merchandised. The store should look its best at every moment. Manage the tester bar: keep it clean, sanitized, and fully stocked. Offer testers and samples to guests with brief product education. Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the register. Support inventory tasks: replenishment from backstock, receiving shipments, and participating in cycle counts. Help set up and staff in-store events, workshops, and community activations. Capture guest contact information (with consent) for event invitations and follow-up. Follow all loss prevention and cash handling procedures to protect the business. Who You Are You have a genuine passion for skin care and want to put your training to work in a retail and education setting. You are warm, friendly, and approachable. You make people feel comfortable the moment they walk in. You are reliable and responsible. You show up on time, you follow through, and you take pride in your work. You enjoy talking to people, not just transacting with them. You'd rather have a real conversation about someone's skin than rush through a checkout. You pay attention to details: a crooked label, a low tester, a shelf that needs restocking; you notice and you fix it. You work well as part of a small team where everyone counts and everyone contributes. You can stand and move throughout your shift, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in a guest-facing retail environment. Nice to Have Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience. Personal interest in clean beauty, natural skin care, or wellness. Experience with ingredient research or beauty content creation. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Schedule and Compensation This is a part-time position, approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, depending on business needs. The store is open Wednesday through Sunday. Monday and Tuesday are closed.
