Jovie is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bright Horizons Family of Childcare Solutions. Role Description This Part-Time to Full-Time Sitter role is an on-site position based in the Greater Chicago Area. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing attentive, age-appropriate care to children, supporting daily routines such as meals, playtime, homework, and bedtime, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment. Sitters may care for children in private homes or at events, following each family’s or client’s guidelines and preferences. The role involves clear communication with parents and guardians about schedules, activities, and child needs, as well as reliable, punctual attendance. This position can grow from part-time to full-time hours based on availability, performance, and family or event needs. Qualifications Demonstrated childcare experience, including caring for infants, toddlers, school-age children, or multiple children at once. Strong safety and supervision skills, including awareness of child safety practices and the ability to respond calmly in emergencies. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with children, families, and event staff. Reliability and professionalism, including punctuality, consistent follow-through, and respect for family privacy and house rules. Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, in different home and event settings. Ability to engage children in age-appropriate activities, support homework or learning tasks, and manage routines with patience and empathy. Comfort working on-site across the Greater Chicago Area, with reliable transportation to and from assignments. Must meet local and company requirements, which may include background checks, reference checks, and eligibility to work in the U.S. CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain these certifications is strongly preferred.
