Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist

• Accept and dispense prescription medications
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
• Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law
• Ensure that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable
• Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients
• Provide advice on medicines, dosage, side effects, and interactions
• Offer consultation on medication storage and handling

• Educate patients on medical device use, such as blood pressure monitors
• Compound and prepare medicines, including sterile solutions
• Supervise pharmacy staff

Requirements of the Pharmacist

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• Licensed by the state pharmacy board
