What You'll Do

As a Medical Assistant, you'll play an essential role in delivering high-quality care by supporting providers and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and immunizations as directed.
• Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, EKGs, and other clinical procedures within your scope of practice.
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and prescription refill requests.
• Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms while maintaining infection control standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with providers and teammates to ensure efficient clinic operations.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical experience as permitted by applicable regulations.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate electronic medical records.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in a primary care or family medicine setting.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to assist patients with mobility when necessary.
• Frequent use of computers and standard medical equipment.
