The Albany Damien Center provides a supportive community center, programs, and activities for those living with and affected by HIV and AIDS. The mission is to enhance lives and reduce new infections by fostering an affirming environment. Established programs include the AIDS Community Center, Smart Meals, PAWS, and Mpower! Albany. The center offers HIV prevention support groups, holistic programs, mental health counseling, and social activities. Services also extend to nutritional support and assistance for pet owners living with HIV. Role Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced LGBTQ+ & BIPOC Program Manager to join our team. The Program Manager will ensure the provision of quality programming and oversight of program staff, with an emphasis on achieving goals with measurable results in Ending the Epidemic, focusing on prevention and services that address barriers to the social determinants of health. This position oversees Employment Pathways, LGBT-Health and Human Services, Prevention and Essential Support Services for Men within Communities of Color (COCM), Center of Excellence, Pets are Wonderful Support (PAWS), and the NAMES Project. In this role, you will engage with diverse populations, providing support and resources to enhance their overall well‑being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others. Reports to the Director of Programs. Status: Full Time (37.5) Hourly. Monday to Friday. Benefits Eligible. Salary: $66,000 - $68,000, depending on experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in health or human services or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3-4 years State or Federal grant funded program management, staff supervision, and grant delivery/reporting experience. Knowledge of the barriers to the social determinants of health for the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. Experience utilizing and analyzing data to guide program success and to meet and exceed funder and agency goals. Experience with developing SMART goals for program staff. Availability to work a flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends. Valid, unrestricted driver's license and independent means of transportation. Skills Professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of personalities. Proficiency in MS Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with the use of Electronic Health Record databases and referral platforms. Familiarity with client services databases such as HMIS and AIRS is a plus. Demonstrated ability with taking initiative to ensure program success. Excellent time management with the ability to organize multiple tasks and priorities. Ability to work in and grow our agency culture, in a diverse and multicultural setting, providing trauma‑informed and harm reduction services to persons of diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities Responsible for Employment Pathways, LGBT-HHS, COCM, PAWS, Center of Expertise, and NAMES Project Programs. Set program SMART goals and monitor program data to meet funder/agency expectations, improve services, and make programmatic decisions. Assists Director of Programs with development and monitoring of budgets, work plans, and recommend modifications as needed. Prepares monthly narratives and data reporting for program activities and outcomes. Responsible for developing community resource linkages and referral partners. Assists in developing and annually updating program policies and procedures and ensures health equity and cultural and linguistic competency. Provide staff oversight and weekly supervisions, and continuous staff professional development. Review and approve progress notes and services entered EHR and AIRS for completeness and accuracy. Assures each program area is working as a team and fully supports other teams in the agency. Provides oversight of drop‑in location and space resource needs. Provides oversight, training, and coordination of volunteers and/or interns for program areas. Fully support and grow the Damien Center Pharmacy Program and work to support members in reducing barriers to help each person achieve durable HIV Viral Load Suppression. Engages in self‑care to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well‑being. Attends full staff meetings and meets required 24 hours of annual training. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
