Sourcing Initiatives Leader - LATAM

The Sourcing Initiatives Leader - LATAM demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for sourcing projects in Latin America. In this role you will use your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

The role will need to provide support to numerous projects concurrently. The support areas could range from such activities as of: Implementation of Sourcing strategy, Supporting the launch of production for New Product Introductions or Supplier Transfers, developing labor cost and pricing estimates, Analyzing RFQ's, Supplier negotiations and engineering changes at suppliers, Supplier performance management. The Sourcing Initiatives Leader - LATAM will work closely with the Global Sourcing Team, Latin America Supply Chain team, and the Global Project Management team to ensure all aspects of sourcing support in Latin America are efficient and problem free. The Sourcing Initiatives Leader - LATAM is expected to work cross-functionally with Technology, Quality, and Supply Chain to provide an exceptional service experience for Current's customers.

This role will be located in Greenville, SC or Cleveland, OH (4 days in-office, 1 day hybrid). We are not offering relocation at this time.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Create and enforce business policies to meet business targets and customer needs, including improving procurement processes and optimizing Sourcing resources to enhance the customer experience with Sourcing
  • Work with Suppliers to manage and mitigate supply risks on long lead time sub-assembly components.
  • Identify a pipeline of cost reduction opportunities through alternate components, manufacturing process flow, and Lean efforts and lead the projects with suppliers to completion with a cross functional team
  • Work with the Global Sourcing Team to identify and develop a sourcing strategy and supply base for meeting their current and future needs for supply to Latin America and North America.
  • Build relationships with Latin America supply chain team and be a conduit of information, best practices, and needs between the Global Sourcing Team, Latin America Supply Chain Team, and assigned Suppliers/segments.
  • Work with NPI teams and fulfillment leaders to forecast demand to suppliers and participate in Cross functional NPI teams for your assigned products.
  • Closely monitor supplier performance to plan and work with the suppliers to manage any required recovery plans / actions
  • Coordinate with factories and contract manufacturers to ensure supply meets any and all demand requirements
  • Hold performance reviews with suppliers as needed
  • Conduct Capacity Audits, track any Red Flags that impede supplier performance and control revisions at Suppliers
  • Ensure any quality issues have the appropriate focus
  • Develop process to look upstream for pending requirements and drive Engineering / Manufacturing / Sales in order to ensure sourcing given adequate cycle to procure material

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in International Business Administration, Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Manufacturing or Operations.
  • Minimum of 7 additional years of experience in Sourcing, Production Planning or Production Planning roles
  • Must be detail oriented with superior organizational skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers at multiple organizational levels, including senior management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including virtual and electronic communications
  • Possess a sense of urgency

  • Previous experience working with SAP or other ERP systems in Sourcing/Buyer role
  • Prior Project support role or relevant administrative experience
  • Robust understanding of basic contractual terms and conditions
  • Experience in negotiations with suppliers. Ability to independently negotiate
  • Prior experience and/or willingness to work virtually with team members that are not co-located
  • Proven quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Experience creating and using databases
  • Prior experience with project-based work, procurement/sourcing and ERP systems
  • Experienced in supplier management and scorecards

Compensation:

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $60,000-$80,000.
