Appraisal Claims Specialist - Sign on Bonus

This position is located in Danvers and Medford, Massachusetts. As a Field Auto Damage Appraiser, you will conduct quality appraisals of damaged vehicles in the field and restore them to their pre‑damage condition. Job Responsibilities Complete moderate to higher complexity claims within assigned authority limits. Prepare originals, total loss opinions, auto body shop, independent adjuster appraisal re‑inspections, and supplemental appraisals. Provide Best‑In‑Class service to internal and external customers, managing multiple moving pieces. Speak to and engage customers who have experienced an accident, ensuring a supportive experience. Inspect vehicles in various environments (outside, inclement weather, tight quarters at body shops and salvage yards). Use multiple software systems and claim best practices to prepare itemized appraisals indicating costs of parts, materials, and labor needed to restore vehicles. Present technical advice on vehicle repair, parts costs, and garage expertise. Perform auto body shop, independent re‑inspections, and supplements as warranted. Resolve disagreements and negotiate with auto body shops, independent adjusters, claimants, and policyholders. Assist claims management in resolving complaints and evaluating claims for potential fraud or subrogation. May be called upon for catastrophe duty. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 1–3 years of directly related experience. Auto Damage Appraisal licensing and certification required. A valid driver’s license required for car custodians. Extensive knowledge of automobile parts, repair techniques, terminology, and vehicle construction. Prior experience using auto estimating software such as CCC Pathways, Audatex, and Mitchell. Strong negotiation, analytical, decision‑making, organizational, and computer skills. Ability to work with multi‑faceted systems and adapt to different environmental and scheduling conditions. Reliable attendance, time‑management expertise, and a strong analytical, organizational, and multi‑tasking skill set.
