Feed Ingredient Sales SpecialistHiFyve is hiring a Feed Ingredient Sales Specialist in Syracuse, NY, or Northeast Ohio!Pay: $65,000-$85,000/year + bonus eligibilityShift: DaysLocations: Syracuse, NY | Akron, Cleveland, or Mansfield, OH | Territory primarily covers the NortheastTravel: 25%-50%Benefits: Full benefits packageAbout the RoleWe're looking for a Feed Ingredient Sales Specialist to manage commodity sales and purchasing activities while building strong relationships with dairy producers and suppliers throughout the Northeast. This position combines feed commodity sales, vendor negotiations, market guidance, logistics coordination, and direct on-farm relationship development.The ideal candidate has hands-on commodity trading experience, including vendor negotiations, along with knowledge of commodity logistics, risk management, and dairy production.Job ResponsibilitiesMarket feed commodities to dairy producers while working toward individual and team sales and margin goalsDevelop relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities to generate additional commodity salesConduct on-farm visits to strengthen relationships and understand customer needsIdentify and develop new vendor and supplier opportunitiesNegotiate commodity purchases directly with vendorsMaintain regular communication with vendors to develop relationships and stay current on market conditionsProvide customers and internal sales staff with guidance on commodity markets and market conditionsCoordinate with outside sales representatives and the commodities team to achieve sales objectivesSchedule and order commodity shipments based on customer orders and delivery requirementsSupport the execution and fulfillment of feed commodity sales contractsMonitor transportation and logistics requirements associated with commodity shipmentsUse sound judgment, accuracy, and attention to detail when managing sales, purchasing, and commodity transactionsPerform additional duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, Marketing, or a related fieldMinimum of 3 years of commodity trading experience, including direct vendor negotiation responsibilitiesExperience with commodity transportation and logisticsKnowledge of risk management tools used within commodity marketsKnowledge of dairy production methods and practicesProficiency with Microsoft Office and SalesforceStrong critical-thinking, analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervisionStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to develop effective working relationships with customers, vendors, internal teams, and leadershipAbility to handle challenging situations professionally and exercise sound judgmentMust be able to read, write, and speak EnglishAbility to travel 25%-50%May be required to obtain and maintain additional certifications or licenses as necessary for continued employment
