Analytics Engineer

We are seeking an Analytics Engineer that partners with cross‑functional teams within the organization to build, maintain, and optimize the data assets, BI infrastructure, and data engineering workflows critical for monitoring the health of Cox Automotive Consumer & Marketing Solutions products and businesses. Responsibilities Cross‑functional partnership: partner with cross‑functional teams to make data‑driven business decisions aimed at growth and optimization. Develop and maintain data assets: build and maintain foundational assets (e.g., Data Dictionary, Query Repository) that provide standards for monitoring product health; work with stakeholders to optimize these assets. Collaborate with analysts to establish requirements, translate metrics into data asset development, and coordinate with data scrum teams across portfolios. Identify opportunities to optimize existing assets, focusing on runtime performance. Data pipeline and model management: develop and maintain data models using dbt and SQL‑based transformations deployed to Snowflake; work in GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and version‑controlled workflows. Data lineage documentation: maintain lineages that document metrics included in each report and propose improvements to facilitate future updates and troubleshooting. Contribute to semantic layer documentation and metadata for AI‑powered analytics tools (e.g., Snowflake Cortex Analyst). Develop and apply anomaly detection and alerts for data assets; continually improve detection methods and thresholds. BI tool strategy and analytics tool administration: administer account access for analytics tools; support BI tool strategy projects and ensure technologies align with analytics needs. Enable analytics practice and team operations: maintain and optimize technologies such as SharePoint, operational insights, and workflow automation, leveraging AI/GenAI applications. Support company initiatives and projects, lead project execution, guide other analysts, and deliver against business goals. Travel up to 5% for business trips. Qualifications Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; must live within commutable distance of the Atlanta office. Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience (or 18 years related) with SQL‑based relational databases. Intermediate SQL programming skill and experience with ETL processing of big data. Experience with Snowflake (preferred) and BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Domo, or Tableau. Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Web analytics knowledge (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) preferred. Experience with dbt (model development, testing, documentation) and version control systems (GitHub) with CI/CD workflows. Familiarity with Snowflake data platform capabilities, including Cortex AI features for semantic layers and natural language analytics. Experience or willingness to learn AI/GenAI applications for task augmentation or workflow improvement, including AI‑assisted development tools. Experience in machine learning or automation, especially related to anomaly detection, threshold setting, or natural language generation. Tableau Server certification and/or AWS Data Analytics certification are pluses. Vendor management skills and ability to build effective cross‑team relationships. Excellent communication, problem‑solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to thrive in an agile, deadline‑driven environment.
