Sr. Inventory Accountant

About the role: The Senior Inventory Accountant's primary focus is to ensure the accuracy of company’s inventory. This role will perform and review reconciliation of store inventories across our stores. The Inventory Accounting team works closely with our auditors, warehouse teams and our Independent Operators to ensure that our inventories are accurate. The ideal candidate will have a solid finance/accounting background, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, strong analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills, and ideally a good understanding of retail business. Exceptional organizational skills are a must to meet tight deadlines of this role. This role reports to the Director - Accounting. Responsibilities Include: Reconciling retail store inventories across our stores. Prepare and/or review the retail store inventories reconciliations across our stores. Assist in providing requested deliverables to the internal and external auditors in conjunction with quarter review and year-end audit processes. Understand the daily activities of the department and aid in coordinating and managing the period end close process to ensure daily and period goals and deadlines are met. Perform variance analysis for assigned areas of responsibility and partners with corporate department leaders and other company personnel to ensure variances are adequately explained. Perform month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and reports related to retail inventories. Perform account analysis on general ledger detail and prepare journal entries based on this analysis. Process certain manual inventory transfer transactions in the inventory system. Monitor and improve accounting and reporting processes. Prepares expense accruals, reconciliation and explain fluctuations. About The Pay: Base Salary Range: $ 35 - $40 Hourly 401(k) Profit Sharing. Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location. About you: Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is required. Strong Microsoft Office/Excel skills and experience with an ERP system required (Oracle or SAP). Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Professional Attributes/Work Ethic: strong communication skills (Oral and Written), detail-oriented, organized, collaborative, innovative, self-motivated, decisive, accountable, and committed to excellence and high standards. May be required to work overtime on occasion.
