Our nonprofit client in Oakland is seeking an experienced Sr. Financial Services Analyst to support high-impact finance initiatives. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate with extensive experience spearheading the credit agency rating process. The ideal candidate can translate complex financial data into clear business insights, strengthen planning processes, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The role will partner closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to execute the credit rating process, deliver analysis, reporting, and project support across forecasting, development activity, credit-related initiatives, and executive materials. This role requires onsite work in Oakland, California 5 days a week, and is expected to pay $60-70/hr. DOE.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end credit rating process in collaboration with the Director of Finance

• Build and refine financial trend analyses that surface performance patterns, business risks, and potential opportunities across multiple areas of the organization

• Produce rolling forecasts and longer-range financial outlooks by partnering with department leaders to validate assumptions and align planning inputs

• Investigate budget, forecast, and year-over-year variances, then prepare concise commentary that explains key drivers and operational impact.

• Track performance indicators and elevate notable shifts or emerging concerns to finance leadership in a timely manner

• Evaluate development opportunities and capital-related projects through financial modeling, return analysis, and due diligence support

• Review transaction economics, assess exposure areas, and compare post-close results against original underwriting expectations

• Lead assigned finance initiatives related to credit rating support, including preparation of schedules, disclosures, and supporting financial documentation

• Coordinate with internal teams and external rating stakeholders to ensure accurate submissions, while monitoring covenant measures and credit metrics for potential issues

• Assist with quarterly earnings support, board-level presentation materials, and ad hoc analysis requested by leadership

• Contribute to finance process improvement efforts by supporting system enhancements, strengthening data management practices, and identifying automation opportunities

• 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting within a complex business environment.

• Demonstrated strength in financial modeling, variance analysis, and ad hoc analytical support for leadership decision-making

• Experience assessing investment, development, or capital project performance through detailed financial evaluation.

• Working knowledge of credit rating support activities, credit risk considerations, and covenant or metric monitoring

• Ability to synthesize large data sets into clear findings using strong analytical and data mining techniques

• Proficiency in preparing accurate financial reports, executive-ready materials, and well-supported business narratives

• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results with limited day-to-day direction

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across departments and senior leadership teams
