Steel Nation Mechanical Services is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to oversee HVAC service work, mechanical system upgrades, and small construction projects throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. This role manages projects from initial client consultation through completion, ensuring successful execution, customer satisfaction, profitability, and operational excellence.

The Mechanical Project Manager will support a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects, including emerging opportunities within AI-driven data center and critical infrastructure environments . In addition to project management responsibilities, this position will assist with developing customer relationships, identifying new service opportunities, and supporting business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC service work, mechanical system upgrades, and small construction projects from planning through completion.
• Support projects within commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and AI data center/mission-critical facility environments .
• Identify opportunities for additional service work, maintenance agreements, retrofit projects, and facility improvements.
• Develop new services and small project opportunities while growing existing customer accounts.
• Serve as the primary customer contact; conduct site visits, identify needs, present solutions, and maintain strong client relationships.
• Prepare estimates and proposals, including labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, track proposals and close rates, and provide regular sales forecasts and progress updates.
• Update project P&Ls and monitor revenue, cost, gross profit, backlog, billing status, and overall project performance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of HVAC, mechanical, construction, service, estimating, sales, or project management experience preferred.
• Trade school, apprenticeship, construction/project management, business, or sales education is helpful.
• Working knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems, estimating, job costing, gross profit, and P&L reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple customers, estimates, and active projects simultaneously.
• Experience with commercial HVAC, mechanical construction, mission-critical facilities, data centers, manufacturing facilities, or industrial environments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure, ventilation systems, building automation controls, or critical mechanical systems supporting data center operations is a plus.
• Familiarity with the unique operational requirements of AI and high-density computing environments is beneficial but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, negotiation, follow-through, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid: office, remote, customer meetings, and jobsite visits

Compensation : Competitive base salary plus commission/performance incentives

Travel: Regular regional travel; occasional overnight travel may be required
