Position: RN - Emergency Department (Contract)

Overview

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The selected candidate will work a rotating schedule that includes days, nights, and weekends.

Shift Details

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Nights and weekends will rotate.
No call required.

Unit Information

Location: Austin, TX

Number of Beds: 32+
Staffing: Total of 117 staff members
Patient Ratios: 4:1

Staffing Profiles

Day Shift: 1 CNC, 6 RNs, 1 Medic, 1 PCT
Mid Shift: 2 CNCs, 15 RNs, 2 Medics, 2 PCTs
Night Shift: 1 CNC, 6 RNs, 1 Medic, 1 PCT

Required Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) - must be completed by start date
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - must be completed by start date
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred Qualifications

Greater than 2 years of experience in a similar role

Lumbar punctures (LP)
Intubations
Thrombolytic therapy (TNK)
Laceration repairs
Suture removals
Splinting

Dress Code

Scrub color: Navy Blue
Navy Blue zip-up sweater is acceptable.
Not acceptable: Pullover sweatshirts.
