OB Hospitalist

Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled OB Hospitalist to join our established team of physicians and advanced practice providers. This role will practice exclusively in the hospital setting, focusing on high-quality inpatient care and emergency management. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our community OB/GYNs to ensure 24/7 coverage and exceptional patient safety and outcomes. What You Can Expect Shift-Based Schedule: Predictable schedule with a set number of 24-hour shifts per month, allowing for significant time off. Focus on Inpatient Care: Primarily responsible for evaluating and treating patients in triage/OBED, managing obstetric and gynecologic emergencies of the Mankato Clinic patients. Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a strong team of 5 physicians and 3 APPs, supported by 24/7 anesthesia and pediatric hospitalist coverage. Modern Facilities: Our clinic is connected to a 270-bed regional referral center featuring 9 spacious LDR rooms, 14 surgical suites (1 dedicated L&D OR), a Level II Special Care Nursery, and a dedicated L&D OR. Quality & Safety Leadership: Opportunity to serve on patient safety and quality review committees and leadership committees. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care for hospitalized obstetric and gynecologic patients. Monitor laboring patients, interpret fetal heart rate strips, and perform necessary procedures such as amniotomies or sonograms. Qualifications Candidates should hold an MD or DO degree, be board-certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and have completed an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency program. Eligibility for Minnesota state medical licensure is required. Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required. Essential qualities include strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
