Software Engineer (C++)

Overview Our client, a global financial services organization, is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and support high-performance trading applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical, low-latency systems while collaborating with experienced engineering teams in an Agile environment. Responsibilities
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable C/C++ applications.
- Deliver software features from design through implementation and production support.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, QA, and product stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical discussions.
- Ensure software meets security, quality, and performance standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve development processes and leverage AI-assisted development tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with C/C++ development on Unix/Linux platforms.
- Experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases.
- Knowledge of messaging technologies (e.g., Solace, Protocol Buffers) and event-driven systems.
- Experience with Jira, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, secure coding, and problem-solving.
- Experience with trading systems, capital markets, or financial services.
- Knowledge of low-latency or high-performance distributed systems.
- Experience with microservices, AWS, Docker, or other cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Amazon Q, GitHub Copilot, Kiro, or similar.
