Manager, Investor Relations & Capital Markets

Location: New York, NY – HYBRID

Reports To: Director of Investor Relations & Capital Markets

Base Salary: $135,000–$150,000

Position Overview

A publicly traded, high-growth energy technology company is seeking a talented and analytical Manager, Investor Relations & Capital Markets to support its investor relations strategy, capital markets initiatives, and engagement with the investment community.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to work closely with senior leadership and gain significant exposure to institutional investors, equity research analysts, and investment banking professionals. The role combines financial modeling, industry research, investor communications, and capital markets analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investment banking or equity research, along with prior corporate investor relations experience. Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, and presentation development skills are essential, as is the ability to translate complex financial and technical information into clear, compelling investment materials.

The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and comfortable taking ownership of deliverables in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Over time, this individual will assume increasing responsibility for communicating the Company's business strategy, financial outlook, and long-term investment thesis.

Key Responsibilities

Quarterly Earnings & Investor Communications

• Support the quarterly earnings process, including earnings presentations, press releases, management scripts, anticipated Q&A, supporting analyses, and earnings call logistics.
• Ensure investor communications are accurate, consistent, and aligned with corporate messaging.

Financial Modeling & Analysis

• Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models incorporating business-unit performance, potential acquisitions, revenue opportunities, capital requirements, and operating assumptions.
• Collaborate with FP&A on forecasts, financial projections, scenario analyses, and capital project evaluations.
• Assess strategic opportunities and evaluate their potential financial and valuation implications.

Investor Presentations & Executive Materials

• Develop and enhance corporate investor presentations, earnings materials, executive briefings, and presentations for investor and analyst days.
• Independently produce polished, executive-level PowerPoint presentations and supporting financial analyses.

Industry & Competitive Intelligence

• Research industry developments, peer companies, emerging technologies, and competitive positioning.
• Analyze earnings transcripts, equity research reports, and market intelligence to identify trends and opportunities.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.

Investor Targeting & Shareholder Analysis

• Identify prospective institutional investors using investor relations platforms and market intelligence tools.
• Monitor shareholder ownership trends, investor activity, and changes in the shareholder base.
• Prepare investor profiles and briefing materials ahead of management meetings.

Investor & Analyst Engagement

• Support institutional investor meetings, sell-side analyst discussions, investor conferences, and non-deal roadshows.
• Prepare management briefing materials and coordinate investor follow-up.
• Gradually assume greater responsibility for communicating the Company's strategy and investment thesis.

Capital Markets Support

• Assist with capital markets initiatives, financing-related analyses, investment banking relationships, and materials for potential transactions and strategic opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Work closely with finance, technical, and business-unit leaders to refine financial assumptions and ensure consistent investor communications.
• Identify opportunities to improve investor relations processes, reporting, and research capabilities.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall quality of deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of total professional experience, including with preferred experience in investment banking or equity research.
• Prior corporate investor relations experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to build detailed financial and valuation models from the ground up, including scenario analysis and business opportunity evaluation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to independently develop sophisticated financial models and polished executive presentations.
• Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to evaluate complex industries, technologies, financial information, and competitive dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and technical concepts into clear, investor-appropriate messaging.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, public equity markets, and institutional investor expectations.
• Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• A proactive, self-directed approach with strong ownership, intellectual curiosity, and a demonstrated work ethic.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of corporate investor relations experience, preferably at a publicly traded company.
• Experience in energy, clean technology, power, energy infrastructure, advanced industrial technology, or related industries.
• Exposure to capital markets transactions, equity financings, or investment banking relationships.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, Nasdaq IR Insight, or comparable investor relations and financial research platforms.
• Experience in a high-growth, development-stage, or early-commercial-stage company.
• CFA designation or progress toward completion is a plus.
