About the Position

Seeking a Locum Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide adult psychiatric care in a residential treatment setting in Tucson, AZ. Psychiatric NP is the preferred provider type for this assignment.

• • • Immediate start as soon as credentialed
• • • Local provider strongly preferred
• • • Adult patients age 18+
• • • Average patient age in the 30s and 40s
• • • Both new & established patients
• • • Approximately 28–30 patients for a full time provider
• • • 70–75% direct patient care
• • • Strong onsite multidisciplinary support

• • • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• • • Provide ongoing psychiatric follow up
• • • Manage psychiatric medications
• • • Develop & adjust treatment plans
• • • Round on assigned residential patients approximately once per week
• • • Provide additional visits when clinically warranted
• • • Conduct approximately one hour patient sessions including documentation
• • • Participate in treatment team meetings
• • • Provide therapy as appropriate
• • • Complete timely clinical documentation
• • • Collaborate with nursing, therapy & technician staff
• • • Work with other medical providers onsite
• • • Manage assigned adult psychiatric caseload

• • • 40 hours per week
• • • Option for 5 eight hour days or 4 ten hour days
• • • Monday through Sunday coverage structure
• • • No scheduled on call
• • • Assignment: September 14, 2026 to October 16, 2026
• • • Start as soon as credentialing is completed

Requirements

• • • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• • • Active Arizona NP license
• • • BLS certification required
• • • Board Certification preferred but not required
• • • Psychiatric experience required
• • • Residential or behavioral health experience preferred
• • • Suboxone certification preferred but not required
• • • Telehealth experience not required
