Heavy-Duty MechanicThe Heavy-Duty Mechanic is responsible for service, repair, and maintenance of heavy construction vehicles and equipment within a shop and field environment. The position is a year-round position based out of Anchorage shop facility.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesInspect, diagnose, order parts and complete repairs to construction vehicles and equipment such as bulldozers, cranes, end dumps, front-end loaders, motor graders, tractor-trailers, water trucks, and miscellaneous non-mobile and light duty equipment.Conduct diagnostic scan and reporting using automotive software in completion of repairs and maintenance.Adjust, repair, and replace engines, fuel systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and transmissions.Disassemble and assemble vehicles and equipment parts using hoists, hand tools, pneumatic and electric tools, and instruments.Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including lubrication and oil changes in accordance with maintenance schedules.Operate vehicles and equipment to diagnose and ensure operating efficiency.Communicate needed repairs and level of action required to Shop Foreman / Superintendent.Complete field requisitions for materials and parts required for completion of repairs.Perform welding repairs as needed for completion of repairs.Support HSE processes and Haz-Req programs. Assume personal accountability and responsibility to ensure all tasks are performed safely.Present safety concerns to Leadership's attention.Travel to/from remote locations and job sites as needed.
