At 15 Necco Street (Platinum LEED-certified – a natural fit for our commitment to sustainability and our B-Corp values), we'll have space for 200+ guests, private dining and event spaces, a bar program recognized by the James Beard Foundation and Tales of the Cocktail, sweeping views across Fort Point Channel, and an outdoor terrace made for long lunches and celebratory dinners.

We're looking for an experienced Receiver to join our team and help us open our third US restaurant.

As a Hawksmoor Receiver, you are the first line of defense on quality. Every delivery that comes through our doors passes through your hands, and nothing reaches the kitchen or the bar unless it meets our standards. You are responsible for checking deliveries against purchase orders, identifying discrepancies in quantity, pricing and quality, and making sure everything is stored correctly and rotated properly. Accuracy, organization and a genuinely sharp eye for detail are essential. Hawksmoor is proud to be an inclusive workplace that welcomes everyone and lives by its values.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Guest Experience

· Take ownership of the receiving function, with a working understanding of how each kitchen and bar section relies on it.

· Inspect all incoming food, beverage and operating supplies for quality, freshness, temperature, weight, dates and damage before accepting them.

· Understand what is required to meet Hawksmoor standards and reject any product that falls short.

· Check every delivery against the purchase order, reconcile invoices, and identify discrepancies in quantity, pricing and quality.

· Maintain a strong knowledge of our produce, meat, seafood and dry goods, and the quality markers that matter for each.

· Demonstrate a good understanding of product specifications, including cut, grade, size, count and packaging.

· Support increased delivery volume around larger groups, Private Dining Room (PDR) bookings and busy trading periods.

· Show genuine care for delivering an excellent guest experience, knowing that it starts with the quality of what arrives.

· Consistently make sure the kitchen and bar have exactly what they need, when they need it.

Team Engagement & Culture

· Seek out, welcome, and act on feedback from peers and managers.

· Communicate clearly and early with chefs, bar teams and managers about shortages, substitutions and delays.

Health & Safety

· Adhere to all allergy awareness, cleanliness, and food safety procedures.

· Complete all required training, including Food Handler Certification, and consistently uphold hygiene standards.

· Follow opening and closing checklists accurately and consistently.

· Take responsibility for the clean, efficient running of the loading area, storerooms, coolers and freezers.

· Record and monitor delivery temperatures and act immediately on anything outside of range.

· Maintain accurate labeling, storage and shelf life for all products received.

· Use, clean and maintain scales, pallet jacks and other receiving equipment safely and according to company standards.

Operational Standards

· Manage time effectively to handle multiple deliveries, paperwork and storage demands across the day.

· Keep receiving paperwork, credits and invoices complete, accurate and filed on time.

· Maintain good product rotation using FIFO and understand par levels for service requirements.

· Recognize how errors affect both guest experience and the wider business, particularly around cost and margin.

· Understand and follow stock rotation and storage procedures.

· Actively work to reduce waste and improve efficiency across ordering, storage and stock control.

· Support stock counts and inventory processes accurately and on schedule.

· Comply with lateness and absence policies.

Purpose & DEIB

Physical and Mental Demands

· Mobility: Must be able to move continuously between the loading area, storerooms, kitchen and bar areas during the shift.

· Lifting & Carrying: Regularly lifts, carries, pushes and pulls boxes, cases and produce weighing up to ~ 50 lbs.

· Environment: Must be comfortable working in walk-in coolers and freezers for periods of the shift.

· Communication: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with suppliers, kitchen staff, bar teams and management.

· Cognitive: Ability to prioritize tasks, work accurately with numbers and paperwork, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

· Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moderate to loud noise levels consistent with a high-volume restaurant. The pace is fast and requires multi-tasking under pressure.
