Job Overview - Crisis Worker
Compensation: $21/hour
Location: Remote
Schedule: Part Time, 2 shifts per week


TAG MedStaffing is hiring multiple Crisis Workers for our client, providing text and online chat-based emotional support to individuals and families experiencing crisis situations. This remote role will use active listening, risk assessment, crisis intervention, resource referral, and accurate documentation to support individuals while following established safety and confidentiality protocols. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of counseling, behavioral health, social services, case management, crisis support, or related human services experience with strong written communication, empathy, and decision-making skills.


Responsibilities as the Crisis Worker:

• Crisis Support: Respond to individuals experiencing crisis through text and online chat while establishing rapport and providing empathetic, nonjudgmental support.
• Risk Assessment: Identify warning signs, assess safety and risk, and follow established crisis intervention and escalation protocols.
• Resource Coordination: Connect individuals with appropriate community and emergency resources based on their circumstances and level of need.
• Crisis Intervention: Apply established intervention techniques, distress tolerance strategies, and safety procedures while responding effectively under pressure.
• Documentation: Accurately document crisis interactions, assessments, referrals, and outcomes in accordance with program requirements.
• Training & Compliance: Complete required crisis intervention training and ongoing education while maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and established service standards.

Qualifications for the Crisis Worker:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional education in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: 1+ year of behavioral health, social services, crisis intervention, case management, counseling, or related human services experience is preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of crisis intervention, active listening, risk assessment, confidentiality, and community resources is required.
• Technical Skills: Strong computer, typing, communication, and electronic documentation skills are required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong written communication, empathy, sound judgment, adaptability, reliability, professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm in high-stress situations are required.
