Position: Registered Nurse Location: M4W Schedule: 36 Hours (Nights / Every Other Weekend) ABOUT THE Medical Surgical/4 West DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER: 4 West is a 46‑bed surgical unit that provides general post‑operative care for colorectal, surgical oncology, gynecology, trauma and acute care surgery (TACS) patients, bariatric surgery, urology, plastics, transgender, transplant, and vascular surgery patients. The nursing staff on this unit are committed to professional growth through certifications and an active unit‑based practice council that is focused on improving the environment for both patients and staff. POSITION SUMMARY: As an RN in the Medical Surgical department you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient‑centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care your patients deserve. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues Update and manage patient records Enter and interpret computerized data and information Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects JOB REQUIREMENTS Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 1+ years of RN experience preferred Certification in basic life support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required in certain units Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. Our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and takes into account education, experience, and licensure and certifications directly related to position requirements.
