Sample Tasks
- Documentation Audit: Review existing identity management documentation (architecture, policies, onboarding guides, runbooks) to identify gaps, redundancies, and inconsistencies.
- Content Strategy & Taxonomy: Define audiences (developers, platform admins, security, operations), content types (concepts, tasks, references), and navigation structure.
- Style and Standards: Establish and apply a style guide aligned to plain language, Microsoft Style Guide conventions, and Agency accessibility requirements (e.g., Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Templates: Create reusable templates (overview, how-to, reference, troubleshooting, release notes, change logs) with front matter/metadata to support search and lifecycle management.
- Integration Guides: Step-by-step guides for integrating applications with Azure AD B2C using OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0 (as applicable), and SDKs such as MSAL (.NET, JavaScript, Java, Python).
- Quick Starts & Samples: Minimal viable examples for web, SPA, mobile, and API scenarios (public, confidential clients; PKCE; token acquisition; refresh; logout; session).
- Onboarding Playbook: Requirements, intake checklist, environment access, tenant registration, application registration, redirect URIs, secrets/certificates, scopes, claims, and policies.
- Operational Runbooks: Incident response, break-glass procedures, change management, certificate management, monitoring/alerting (Azure Monitor, App Insights), audit trails, and reporting.
- Environment & Configuration: Documentation for dev/test/stage/prod tenants, policy versioning, keys/secrets rotation, branding, localization, and custom page content.
- Knowledge transfer to State team, as necessary
- Experience: 5+ years in technical writing for cloud identity/authentication solutions; 2+ years with Azure AD B2C.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, MSAL, JWT, PKCE, and application registration in Azure.
- Tooling & Pipelines: Experience documenting CI/CD using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
- Accessibility & Style: Demonstrated application of plain language, accessibility standards, and Microsoft Style Guide.
- Portfolio: Samples of developer-facing identity docs (links or attachments).
- Communication: Excellent stakeholder facilitation, interview skills, and ability to translate SME input into clear, actionable guides.
- Prior work with public-sector or regulated environments (security, privacy, records retention).
