Blood Collections Staff - Customer Service

Job Description We provide paid training—no prior medical experience required. Job Overview You will assist with every step of the blood collection process, including transporting and setting up equipment at community collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and following safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations delivered to hospitals. Watch this short video to learn more about the role: rdcrss.org/lifesavingrole Key Responsibilities Connect personally with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so volunteer donors feel comfortable returning. Maintain detailed orientation throughout the day to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused. Drive Red Cross vehicles when required and assist in setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites; minimum height 60 inches. Standard Schedule Variable hours; Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday schedule. Schedule provided two to three weeks in advance. Pay Information Starting rate: $20.03 per hour. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience with effective verbal communication skills. Current, valid driver's license with good driving record. Physical ability to lift, push, pull heavy weights; sit or stand for long periods; adapt to irregular hours and frequent schedule changes; minimum height 60 inches. Ability to work as a team on mobile blood drives at various locations. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.). Prior leadership experience. Benefits For You Medical, dental, and vision plans.
