SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY Our clients are seeking compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessionals to support students ages 5-17 with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, emotional disabilities, speech and language impairments, multiple disabilities, and other complex learning needs. As an ISBE-approved therapeutic day school, the program provides highly individualized instruction in a structured, relationship-based environment focused on academic, social-emotional, communication, and life skills development. CLIENT'S LOCATION Schools are located in Highland Park, IL DESCRIPTION OF CLIENT'S DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct classroom support to students with autism, developmental disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other special needs in a therapeutic day school setting. Assist the teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior intervention plans, and instructional activities. Support students with academic tasks, communication development, social skills training, and daily living skills. Assist with behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques as directed by classroom staff. Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help students meet educational and behavioral goals. CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with school staff Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude Experience supporting students with special needs is a plus Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent (associates or higher preferred) DTG ADVANTAGES Establish a relationship with one of the nation's largest referral agencies for behavioral-health.
