Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital Registered Nurse (RN) Job DescriptionRegistered Nurses provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families.Core Responsibilities:Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Perform detailed, timely assessments and monitor patient conditions.Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals.Administration: Administer medications, treatments, and perform diagnostic tests.Patient/Family Education: Provide education regarding illnesses, treatments, and preventative health measures.Advocacy & Support: Offer emotional support, act as a patient advocate, and ensure compassionate, patient-centered care.Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely medical records.Job Requirements:Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or compact state).Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply for residency programs.Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) is required.Key Competencies & Qualities:Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Resilience, empathy, and a commitment to patient advocacy.Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Equal Opportunity Employer: ATC Healthcare Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
