Production Assembler

Production AssemblerJoin a hands-on manufacturing team that produces high-quality defense products. As a Production Assembler, you will perform a variety of mechanical assembly, inspection, rework, material handling, and equipment operation tasks. You will follow detailed work instructions, engineering specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards to ensure products are built accurately, efficiently, and to the required specifications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, takes pride in quality, and is eager to learn different areas of the manufacturing process.ResponsibilitiesPerform hands-on mechanical assembly and production work according to established work instructions and engineering specifications.Inspect products, components, and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and conformance to standards.Complete rework and repairs on products and components as needed to meet quality requirements.Operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safely and effectively.Handle, move, and stage materials throughout the production process to support continuous workflow.Follow detailed verbal and written work instructions, safety procedures, and quality guidelines at all times.Document work performed, inspection results, and production information accurately and in a timely manner.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace standards.Cross-train in and support different production areas as needed to meet operational demands.Help identify opportunities to improve product quality, production processes, and overall efficiency.Essential SkillsExperience performing mechanical assembly and general production work in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for assembly and production tasks.Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions, including work instructions and engineering specifications.Strong reading comprehension skills to interpret documentation, procedures, and production requirements.Ability to complete basic documentation and record production and inspection information accurately.Proficiency with Microsoft Office for basic documentation, reporting, and communication.High School Diploma or equivalent education.Eligibility to work in accordance with applicable Navajo Nation Employment Laws and established hiring criteria.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Experience in general labor, assembling, or mechanical work.Comfort working with both hand and power tools for extended periods.Ability to adapt to different production areas and tasks through cross-training.Attention to detail and a strong focus on product quality and accuracy.Why Work Here?You will benefit from a consistent work schedule with options for 3- or 4-day workweeks, allowing for extended periods of time off while maintaining full-time hours. The facility operates multiple structured shifts, including: 1st Shift / Day, MondayThursday, 6:00 AM4:30 PM (4×10); 2nd Shift / Night, MondayThursday, 4:30 PM3:00 AM (4×10); and 3rd Shift / Weekend, FridaySunday, 6:00 AM6:30 PM (3×12). The work involves hands-on tasks, standing for extended periods, and working in a team-oriented production setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Farmington, NM.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
