Perform and provide technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment Perform planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submits appropriate reports Assist supervisors in changing technology and budget requirements Maintain effective spare parts inventory Minimize downtime and unsafe conditions by performing preventative maintenance Maintain mechanical skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training Maintain technical and administrative records, including prints and project reports Respond to emergencies and participate in emergency response and driving teamwork throughout the area of responsibility Supervise, direct, and train contract crews and participate in Safety Action Plans. Read and understand P&ID's (process and instrumentation diagrams) Preventive maintenance duties and installation assignments of electronic and control equipment and recommend remedial maintenance as required Perform periodic and emergency overhauls and reconditioning of equipment including, but not limited to: remote transmitter units, controller, product identification devices, uninterruptible power supplies, programmable logic controllers, fire detectors, temperature monitors, vibration monitors, regulated power supplies, frequency to D.C. converters, metering circuits, pressure and temperature transmitters, 24VDC and 120VAC relay logic panels, assorted panel meters, electronic tools and test equipment, control valves, instrumentation, control and supervisory equipment Operate pertinent safety equipment when performing duties in potentially hazardous areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.) Interpret, install and troubleshoot instrumentation in accordance with basic PID and electrical/electronic schematics, and make modifications/corrections to the noted schematic Routine testing and logging of pipeline safety checks as required by D.O.T. regulations using appropriate tools Incumbent normally works alone but at times is required to coordinate work activities with other technicians to make repairs to electronic instrumentation and RTU equipment May be requested to inspect or oversee the work of contract employees in the installation or maintenance of electronic instrumentation equipment Investigate and diagnose reported difficulties; make repairs and adjustments and restore equipment and facilities to proper operation Use various test equipment, measuring devices, hand and power tools and gauges related to the electronic instrumentation field As assigned, assists technicians in other disciplines with routine maintenance, repair and installation. In absence of appropriate craftsman, may be required to diagnose problems other than instrumentation in nature and perform minor repairs, informing appropriate supervision Responsible to help maintain safe and healthful working conditions by exercising sound judgment, complying with all industry safety regulations and standards, and keep current with changing industry regulation and standards Requirements Legally authorized to work in the job posting country High School Diploma or GED equivalent Must maintain a valid driver's license 4 or more years of Oil & Gas experience 4 or more years of experience working with electrical power and components, digital and analog circuitry or OMNI flow computer Beginner level of proficiency in Windows and with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) Working knowledge of Windows PC operating system, flow meters, Siemens/Allen Bradley control systems, VFD’s & Motor Control circuitry Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations: To climb up to 50 feet using both inclined and vertical steps/ladders To lift up to 45 pounds To bend, kneel, knee stand and squat up to 30 minutes at a time, to sit and stand for prolonged periods over 2 hours at a time according to job demands To travel up to 15% of the time To respond to emergency calls as needed, work overtime on an as-needed basis To work outside in harsh weather conditions and to work alone a high percentage of the time To work with chemicals and bases and wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection) To maintain face so that a respirator / face mask can seal properly, i.e. to be clean shaven (facial hair) Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing technical support for mechanical and electrical equipment, including installation, maintenance, and emergency response.
