Description
Education Completion of a program/training in construction technology, electrical or HVAC maintenance or related field from an accredited technical or engineering school is strongly preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience Two (2) years' experience in the field of HVAC or Electrical is required. Time spent training at accredited technical or engineering school will count toward experience.
Licenses & Certifications Professional licenses and/or certifications relevant to this position are required. (State of Oklahoma Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, 608 EPA, Stationary Engineer, State boiler, etc.)
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Building Maintenance.
- Knowledge of trade practices in the areas of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Building Maintenance.
- Knowledge and skill in the maintenance of equipment generally used in health care facilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all relevant departments, agencies and individuals in order to properly conduct day-to-day business.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.
- Knowledge of codes and regulations relevant to health care facilities.
- Ability to utilize instructions, specifications and blueprints to complete assignments.
- Ability to use pertinent tools, equipment and measuring instruments to perform repair and maintenance activities. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
- Proficient in the use of a computer, and knowledge in Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with Muscogee Creek Nation Department of Health staff, Tribal and non-Tribal contractors, governmental agencies, vendors as well as the public, both orally and in writing.
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Facilities Management Department of the Department of Health by performing general maintenance services and support in the area of licensure.
Work Environment
Work is performed inside and outside of facility. Potential risk of exposure to all kinds of weather, dirty, dusty, and greasy conditions; bad smelling fumes and the possibility of scrapes, burns, infections and broken bones does exist in the performance of position duties. Driving a GSA vehicle is required.
Physical Demands
Physical demands of the position require continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working within small or cramped quarters. Frequently carries, lifts, pulls, or pushes carts and equipment in the performance of duties. Incumbent must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds or more. Work is sometimes performed on ladders and/or scaffolds which requires overhead work or in a stretched, cramped or awkward position. Incumbent shall be aware of normal risks and demands associated with the position.
Essential Functions
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution or assistance with the following:
- Install, maintain and repair HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and related equipment in the health care facility following specifications, blueprints, manuals and instructions using various hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, measuring instruments and testing instruments.
- Repair and maintain the physical structure of the facility and surrounding buildings as required.
- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electronic testing equipment.
- Utilize the CMMS to record all work performed on electronic work orders. Complete assigned work orders and account for required man-hours in the system.
- Moving of furnishings, equipment and supplies.
- Attend and participate in meetings, training and seminars as directed by supervisor.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
